Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday inaugurated ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’, a major agricultural initiative aimed at empowering Gujarat’s farmers with cutting-edge, sustainable farming techniques.
Speaking at the launch event held at Anand Agricultural University, CM Patel emphasized the campaign’s goal: to revolutionize agriculture by integrating science, technology, and sustainability.
“This initiative will be a milestone in enhancing crop yields, promoting self-reliance among farmers, and supporting local produce through modern tools like natural farming, value addition, and mechanization,” Patel said.
Running from May 29 to June 12, the campaign is part of a nationwide effort and will see 55 expert teams reaching out to over 3.5 lakh farmers across Gujarat. These teams include scientists from 30 Krishi Vigyan Kendras, four agricultural universities, and seasoned agricultural officers and progressive farmers.
Throughout the campaign, farmers will receive hands-on training and demonstrations on:
- Natural and climate-resilient farming methods
- Use of advanced tools like nano fertilizers and drone applications
- Proper use of soil health cards
- Optimal fertilizer usage
- Latest government schemes and support programs
The campaign represents a unique opportunity for Gujarat’s farmers to modernize their practices and adopt environmentally sound strategies.
“By embracing innovation and research, Gujarat is leading the way in using technology like nano urea and drones to transform agriculture,” said CM Patel.
Officials describe the initiative as a landmark step toward building a future-ready, self-sustaining agricultural ecosystem in the state.
